Students are to complete the handout: Roman Society and Crises of the Republic for Homework. Also students should go to USAtestprep and complete the three (3) assignments there. Students can repeat these assignments at least 3 times to improve there scores.

We continued our discovery of the diffusion of Greek culture by Alexander the Great's conquest of the Persian Empire and the origin of the Roman Republic. Tomorrow's lesson will focus on the Roman Republic becoming the dominate power in the region.
Do to the large number of students that did not complete Friday's test. The deadline has been extended to Wednesday 9/25/13.

What was the final results of the Greco-Persian wars? Today we concluded the Greco - Persian wars. Students had to complete a question sheet on the Battle of Thermopylae. Friday (9/20/13) students will be tested on the Greco-Persian wars (Battles of Marathon and Thermopylae) and introduced to the life and conquests of Alexander the Great.
We started the Greco-Persian Wars with The Battle of Marathon. Students were given a test question sheet the fill out during the lesson and for homework. The sheet can be found below along with a link to a History Channel special on Marathon.
Students should have these questions copied and answered in their notebooks. Tomorrow we start the Greco - Persian Wars (492- 449BC.
Students answered the review questions from last week. Then use that and new vocabulary to introduce the new section on Greek civilization.
Note book task or Question: Describe the characteristics of a Greek city state. ( Students should have this answered in notebooks.) Today we started our Section on Greek history. Students worked in groups to answer questions about the area.
